Timer15Minute.com

Privacy Policy

What timer15minute.com stores on your device, what it never collects, and how to remove it. No accounts, no profiles, no data sold.

In short

This site does not ask who you are. There is no account, no sign-up, no login and no contact form. Nothing you do with a timer is sent to a server: the countdown runs entirely in your browser, and when you close the tab there is no record of it anywhere but your own device.

The rest of this page explains that in detail, including the few things that are stored locally and the one third party involved in serving the page.

Who is responsible

timer15minute.com operates this website and is the data controller for the limited processing described here. You can reach us at contact@timer-15-minute.com about anything on this page.

What we do not collect

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment details or postal addresses, because nothing on the site asks for them. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not run advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information with data brokers. There is no tracking pixel and no third-party advertising tag on any page.

What is stored on your device

Two small pieces of information are kept in your browser's local storage so that the site behaves sensibly when you return:

  • Your alarm preference — whether you chose the clear alarm, the soft bell, or silence.
  • Any date you enter on a countdown page — for example the exam or holiday date on a custom countdown, so it is still there next time you open that page.

Both stay on your device. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we cannot read them. Clearing your browser's site data for this domain deletes them immediately, and the site continues to work normally without them.

The site sets no cookies of its own.

Offline copies

A service worker stores a copy of the pages you visit in your browser's cache so the timer keeps working without a connection. This cache lives on your device only. It is removed when you clear site data, and it contains nothing personal — only the same public pages anyone else receives.

Analytics

No analytics script runs on this site. Nothing about your visit is measured or sent anywhere.

Server logs

Like effectively every website, the hosting provider that serves these pages records standard technical request logs, which typically include an IP address, the page requested, a timestamp, and the browser's user-agent string. These logs exist to deliver the site, keep it available and defend against abuse. We do not use them to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine them with anything else. Retention is governed by the hosting provider's own policy.

Permissions the site may request

Two optional browser permissions may be requested, and only at the moment you use the relevant feature:

  • Screen wake lock — asks your device to keep the screen on while a countdown runs, so the alarm is not missed. It is released when the timer stops.
  • Notifications — only if you press the alerts button, so a message can appear when time is up.

Declining either one does not stop the timer working, and neither sends any information to us.

Third parties

Web fonts are requested from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). To deliver a font file, Google necessarily receives your IP address and user-agent, and its handling of that request is governed by Google's own privacy policy. No other third party receives a request from these pages, and no font request carries anything about your timer.

If you would rather avoid that request entirely, a content blocker that blocks Google Fonts will do so; the site is designed to fall back to your system fonts and remains fully usable.

Children

This site is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.

International transfers

The pages are served from the hosting provider's network, which may deliver them from a location near you. The Google Fonts request described above may be served from outside your country. Because no personal data about you is collected by this site, there is no transfer of personal data by us beyond those technical requests.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and comparable laws elsewhere you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to your data protection authority. In practice we hold no personal data about you that could be looked up, corrected or exported, because none is collected. The data described above that does exist is on your own device and entirely under your control: clear your browser's site data and it is gone.

If you believe we nevertheless hold information about you, write to contact@timer-15-minute.com and we will respond.

Changes to this policy

If the site's behaviour changes — for example if analytics are switched on — this page is updated to match before the change goes live, and the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be summarised here rather than made quietly.
